Media Class

I think that media is fairly important in my life. I like to know what is going on and like to stay in the loop but at the same time, it gets bad when they start dissing other people or telling personal things. Internet radio and music are the most important to me because it is something that i am interested in. They are the most interesting to me because i am constantly doing atleast one of them and i never watch TV or read the newspaper, so without them i wouldn't be in the loop. I think pop culture is a huge part of our life. Everyone uses it, people from ages 3-80. I use the media for entertainment most of the time and sometimes for information.

I think that the media portrays teenagers in an unacurate way. All the TV shows or movies you see about highschool are nothing like highschool in real life. In alot of TV shows that show that highschool is a "typical" highschool. Where theres the 'popular' kids, the 'nerds', the 'bullies', the 'jocks', the 'computer/gaming geeks', and all the other stereotypes you can think of. Highschool is nothing like that at all. There isnt little cliques that some people are too cool to hangout in but theres obviously groups of friends but that doesnt mean that everyone in that group is popular or jocks. The media makes teenagers look like lowlife druggies who dont listen to their parents or the teachers when in reality not every single teenager is like that. Sure there is going to be those kids but that doesnt mean everyone is like that.
